Last night was an event to remember, the 2014 Miami Best Buddies Gala celebrating Southeast Asia. Being able to attend events like these in support of efforts going on all around me and the community in which I represent is why being Mrs. South Florida International and helping raise awareness for Safe Kids makes it all worth it. We live in an area that thrives on taking advantage of the generosity and charitable acts we all rally to support. Here I am (featured in top photo) with Sammy Sosa and wife, Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler and Miss Florida Teen USA 2015 Jara Courson. Best Buddies creates opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, you can find out more here @ www.bestbuddies.org.
Several friends of mine were there, lending their support for Best Buddies but also understanding how important carrying out my duties as Mrs. South Florida International are to me and then too my run for Mrs. Florida International coming up this spring. Like all charitable organizations, raising awareness is one of the biggest issues they face; that’s why forming an alliance with Safe Kids Worldwide is at the forefront of everything I am trying to do and turn people on to the need to help save the lives of kids that could have otherwise been prevented. Be sure and check out my Facebook page @ facebook.com/mrssouthfloridainternational. Monthly, bi-monthly…weekly, I am trying to be involved with all local chapters and/or coalitions of Safe Kids Worldwide, on all levels. Click here to www.safekids.org to find out more about topics that hit close to home for so many of us. Have a great weekend!
