Capping off a 2-week buckle up campaign in Pembroke Park…Watkins Elementary was the place to be with school assemblies and pep rallies taking place leading up to the final carnival that I attended this morning. I got to help these lovely kids paint fire trucks and along with Safe Kids Worldwide promote the benefits of why it’s essential to where your seatbelt while riding as a passenger in a vehicle. Buckle Up Safety Girl was on hand and was a sure delight to meet as she greeted the little ones. These kids worked hard for today’s festivities, writing essays and making posters in honor of the day. Kid-friendly activities were the highlight this morning with safety games and more and the Broward County Sheriff’s Office along with the Fire and Rescue Department were also in attendance lending way to a successful experience! This is just another reason why I am so enthralled with being Mrs. South Florida International and why I want to continue on as Mrs. Florida International, to make a difference. I left this morning with paint splattered shoes and a smile on my face knowing these kids are sincerely effected by the adults in their lives and I am again truly honored to be a part of all of this!
