It was an anti-bullying message set to music and played out through a theatrical performance. I was asked to talk to students in Orlando about the importance of speaking out against bullying and what a growing problem it has become. From cyber-bullying to your traditional tough kid, it happens amongst all groups of people and the truth is the numbers are increasing when it comes to the fact that it can lead to suicide.
Safe Kids Worldwide was involved through their community partner Dance Out Bullying. I was asked to help encourage middle to high school students to speak out even though that in itself can be hard, “you” can help save a life and more often than not there is no backlash for sticking up for the underdog. I was able to share a personal story that I went through at one point in my life, so relatable and honestly why I enjoy being Mrs. South Florida International, to help raise awareness and make a difference. Dance Out Bullying is growing and you can check out there website at www.danceoutbullying.com and see what a difference they’re making. It was so cool and such an honor to take part in this. I’m looking forward to doing more and love too that Safe Kids touches on so many topics that the outreach is truly amazing!
