Taking place at Vibe Las Olas in Ft. Lauderdale, the guests of the night arrived wearing white and the evening was all in the name of raising awareness for CAP…Concussion Awareness and Prevention.
Brook Burke and I took the reins as the hostess’s for this soiree and had a terrific time meeting and greeting all of our attendees who stepped up and helped 
benefit CAP Challenge.
Given the recent news this week surrounding the national efforts being made by the N.F.L. where a lawsuit brought by more than 5,000 former players accused the league of hiding from them the real dangers of concussions, this event could not have been more timely and impactful. And on Wednesday, April 22nd, a ruling came in from the judge presiding over the case providing a settlement for payments of up to $5 million dollars to players who have a handful of severe neurological disorders as the result of having suffered a concussion.
Through my involvement with Safe Kids Worldwide it became apparent to me that concussions among athletes have been a controversial topic for quite some time now. I felt concussions really needed more awareness surrounding the true debilitating effects of what happens when a traumatic brain injury (TBI) occurs. Thus, CAP was born and spending my time promoting this cause and potentially helping those that suffer is more rewarding than you can ever imagine. I encourage you all to be #capsfe!
